Run Farther, Faster and Better. Tips from Celebrity Trainer, Michelle Lovitt.

Tuesday, March 5th, 2013

Zobha’s brand ambassador and trainer to the stars, Michelle Lovitt, believes the right clothes can make a difference in your workout performance. By having Zobha as Michelle’s go-to brand, she  helped  put together the Runner’s Survival Kit – 4 essentials for any avid runner:

The Runner’s Legging: Having the right running leggings can make a world of difference, especially in the cold months to help you run farther, faster and better! The Zobha Runner’s Legging was made for high impact performance. It has contrast mesh panels at the ankle and hip for added support and moisture wick technology will keep you dry and comfortable no matter how far you’re running.

The Cadence Bra: This is a favorite amongst the female runners on the Zobha team. The Cadence Bra offers maximum support without putting any strain on your shoulders leaving you free to run as long as your heart desires!

Reflective Tape: If you’re an avid runner, chances are you find yourself running in the dark every now and again. Having reflective tape is really important to keep you safe from unsuspecting drivers. (And who doesn’t like to glow in the dark.)

Armband for your iPod/MP3 Player: This is a debatable one, but decided to keep it on here since we’re divided 50/50. Some people don’t like to listen to music while they run, but if you do, having an armband for your music player is key! It keeps it out your way and allows your hands and arms to move naturally with your stride.

You’ve got the inside tips from celebrity trainer, Michelle Lovitt, now hit the road!

5 TIPS TO UP YOUR RUNNING GAME

Tuesday, March 5th, 2013

Running is one of the most basic forms of exercise – as long as you have a pair of running shoes and a road (or treadmill, or trail, or beach, …) you can go running and get a good workout in!

Here are a few tips on how to stay motivated and maximize your running workout:

  • Accept the Challenge: Sign up for a race – whether it’s a 5K or a marathon, it doesn’t matter. Having a goal and deadline to train toward will help keep you motivated.
  • Get the right Gear: If you’re running often, it’s worth investing in a good pair of running pants. The compression capri from Zobha are engineered to increase blood flow and mesh paneling lends added support.
  • Jam Sessions: Make a killer playlist to listen to while you run. When you think you can’t go any further, coax yourself to make it through 2 more full songs and run your heart out!
  • Plan Your Route: Giving yourself a set route (and distance) will help you to stick to your goals. With sites like mapmyrun.com out there its super easy to enter your start and end points and figure out a good route in your area.
  • STRETCH, STRETCH, STRETCH!: We cannot stress this enough – getting a good stretch in before and after you go running is crucial! It’s easy to pull a muscle when you’re giving it your all. Be sure to get a good stretch in your legs, calves and feet before heading out.

I hope you’ve found these tips helpful. If you have any questions or tips of your own share them in the comments section below.
